Black Bodies Screening and Discussion
March 9 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm CST
Black people in Austin make up only 8% of the population. And studies show black people are the most negatively impacted in every system — from health and education to housing and the economy — in America.
Systemic racism is real. And it can have devastating effects on black people.
In the feature-length film “Black Bodies,” 16 Austin-area residents talk openly and candidly about what it means to exist in Austin, and in the world, in their black bodies. Through commentary, art, and music, this film aims to foster awareness among white Americans around the personal and structural racism black people face every day.
The screening is free, however, if you would like to make a donation which will help the filmmaker host more screenings, please visit www.blackbodiesproject.com.
